Interreg MED

Public consultation on the future 2021-2007 Interreg Mediterranean Programme

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the definition of the next Interreg Mediterranean 2021-2027 program.

The consultation is aimed at all current and potential stakeholders to guide the definition of priorities, types of projects, objectives and results to be achieved by the end of the next seven years of programming. Indeed, the European Commission foresees several changes in the way in which European Territorial Cooperation will be characterized and implemented, especially in the Mediterranean area, in the period 2021-2027.

The new Interreg MED, as well as the other transnational programs, will also have to support the European Green Deal. This is why the “MED 2021-2027 Orientation paper” focuses on climate change. In addition, the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic will also need to be addressed in the program.

The consultation will remain open until 30 June 2020.
