National Science Foundation – Computetional Mathematics

The National Science Foundation invites applications for its computational mathematics programme. The purpose is to support mathematical research in areas of science where computation plays a central and essential role, emphasising analysis, development and implementation of numerical methods and algorithms, and symbolic methods. The prominence of computation in the research is a hallmark of the programme. Proposals ranging from single-investigator projects that develop and analyse innovative computational methods to interdisciplinary team projects that not only create new mathematical and computational techniques but use them to model, study and solve important application problems are encouraged.

Foreign organisations may apply provided they do so in consortium with US organisations. The proposer must explain why local support is not feasible and why the foreign organisation can carry out the activity more effectively.

Deadline: 1st December 2023.
