Nominations for the European Inventory Award 2020, promoted by the European Patent Office, have opened.
The award is aimed at excellent inventors from all over the world and from all technical and scientific sectors. Applications can in fact come from the business world, research, universities or Intellectual Property associations, as well as from the general public. The European award-winning inventors must have been granted at least one valid European patent for the invention.
The categories in which the prizes are awarded are as follows:
- Industry: for exceptional and successful technologies patented by large European companies
- Research: for pioneer inventors working at universities or research institutes
- SME: for exceptional inventions of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Non-European countries: for all inventors who are not European citizens, but who have been granted a European patent
- Career: dedicated to a European inventor whose dedication and tireless efforts – and patented inventions – have had an important impact on their field of technological intervention and on society in general.
There is time until 30 September 2019 to apply.
