National Science Foundation – Law and science programme

The National Science Foundation, on behalf of its Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences and under the Division of Social and Economic Sciences, invites applications for its law and science programme. This supports social scientific studies of law and law-like systems of rules and how science and technology are applied in legal contexts. the aim is to advance scientific theory and understanding of the connections between human behaviour and law, legal education, engineering, geosciences and math and physical sciences.

Foreign organisations may apply in consortium with US organisations. The proposer must explain why local support is not feasible and why the foreign organisation can carry out the activity more effectively.

The total budget is USD 5.5 million to fund approximately 60 awards per year. Grants are worth up to USD 300,000.

Deadline: 15 January and 1st August every year.
