Wellcome invites preliminary applications for its international exchange awards programmes in humanities, social science and bioethics. This enables researchers to run international exchange programmes to transform careers and shape the direction of future research. Researchers must help programme participants to transform their careers by experiencing academic life abroad, and enable other programme leaders to shape the direction of future work through global partnerships.
The programme must have a lead applicant who is based at an eligible UK organisation. There must be at least one other co-applicant based at an eligible organisation anywhere in the world outside the UK. Further partners located in the same country or different countries are also welcome. Each applicant must have a permanent, open-ended or long-term rolling contract, or the guarantee of one, and salaries must be paid by the host organisation.
Awards are worth up to £1.5 million for between three to five years and cover costs for staff, materials, consumables, equipment, travel and subsistence.
