European Association of National Metrology Institutes – Metrology for energy

The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) invites proposals for its call on metrology for energy, under the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR). This supports the energy transition towards a low-carbon, smart and efficient energy landscape. Projects may address the following topics:

•SRT-g01 metrology for decarbonising the gas grid;

•SRT-g02 metrology for direct current electricity grids;

•SRT-g03 metrology of magnetic losses in electrical steel sheets for high-efficiency energy conversion;

•SRT-g04 traceable mechanical and electrical power measurement for efficiency determination of wind turbines;

•SRT-g05 metrology for hydrogen vehicles 2;

•SRT-g06 traceable efficiency of power electronic devices and systems for electro-mobility;

•SRT-g07 metrology for hydrogen advanced storage solutions;

•SRT-g08 broadband electro-magnetic interference measurements for future electricity networks;

•SRT-g09 metrology for future energy transmission;

•SRT-g10 in operando metrology for energy storage materials;

•SRT-g11 applications for turning smart grid measurement data into actionable information;

•SRT-g12 enhancing efficiency of high-temperature concentrated solar plants;

•SRT-g13 high throughput metrology for nanowire energy harvesting devices;

•SRT-g14 metrology for emerging photovoltaic applications;

•SRT-g15 new metrological methods for biofuel materials analysis;

•SRT-g16 metrology for biomethane II;

•SRT-g19 ageing and fatigue of energy materials;

•SRT-g20 metrology for enhanced reliability and efficiency of wind energy systems.

Projects may be in the form of joint research projects. EURAMET National Metrology Institutes and Designated Institutes as well as all legal entities established in EU member states, overseas territories and associated countries, may apply. Consortia proposing and delivering a joint research project must consist of at least three internal funded partners from different countries, one of which acts as the project coordinator.

The total indicative budget is €20 million. Grants are worth up to €2.3m over up to 36 months.

Deadline: 30th September 2019
