Italy-Russia, joint program for scientific and technological cooperation

The Director General for the Promotion of the Country System of the MAECI Vincenzo De Luca met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – as part of the Official Visit to Italy of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin – the Head of the First European Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexey Paramonov for the signing of a Joint Program to promote bilateral scientific and technological cooperation.

The document – which is part of the Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on scientific and technological cooperation – was signed for Russia by the Director of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Education and Science Igor Ganshin.

The Joint Program aims to expand and intensify scientific and technological cooperation between the Parties considering the following priority areas:

  • Aerospace
  • Life sciences
  • Energy and environment
  • Astrophysics, physics and applied physics
  • Chemistry
  • Maths
  • Earth Science

It is planned to proceed with the call for the collection of research projects between Italy and Russia for the Executive Protocol of scientific and technological cooperation 2021-2023 during 2020.
