The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, with sponsorship from the Education and Research Foundation for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, invites applications for the Mitzi and William Blahd pilot research grant. This supports basic or clinical scientists in the early stages of their career in conducting research in nuclear medicine or molecular imaging that may lead to further funding.
Basic or clinical scientists who hold an advanced degree such as an MD, PhD or equivalent may apply. Applicants must hold a full-time position in an educational institution, and be no more than five years post training. Applicants must not have been PIs of a peer-reviewed grant worth more than USD 50,000 in a single calendar year. They must be society members. Preference is given to individuals who have demonstrated potential for a research career in the fields of nuclear medicine or molecular imaging and whose research focuses on translational in vivo studies that include radionuclide imaging or therapy. The research may be done in any country.
The grant is worth USD 25,000 over one year to be used for salary support of the PI and direct costs of supplies and equipment. There is one grant available.
