The US Department of Defense, under the Duchenne muscular dystrophy research programme, invites pre-applications for its idea development award. This supports the development of high-risk, high-reward research that will accelerate progress in improving outcomes for individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Research must address opportunities and challenges in the development of safe and effective macromolecular and cellular therapies that address primary pathology of DMD. Preliminary data are required and therapies that will be efficacious across the life-span, particularly in adolescents and adults, are encouraged.
Principal investigators at any academic level, based at any organisation worldwide, are eligible to apply.
The total budget is worth USD 4.48 million to fund approximately eight awards. Grants are worth up to USD 350,000 each in direct costs for up to two years.
Deadline: 3rd August 2022
