EFSA – Foodome project

The European Food Safety Authority invites proposals for its call on the European Foodome project. This supports the creation of a well-structured, comprehensive food composition database by taking advantage of AI technologies. The aim is to reduce knowledge gaps of incomplete biochemical composition of food that limits regulators and health professional’s ability to systematically explore how diets impact our health. In addition, the project should also explore how to systematically unveil the mechanistic role of some molecules found in our diets, by building on the findings from recently published pioneering work in linking food chemicals to diseases.

Organisations or consortia of organisations are eligible to apply.

Funding is worth up to €1.7 million over three years.

Deadline: 29th August 2022
