The National Science Foundation invites applications for its Directorate for Education and Human Resources core research funding opportunity. This supports fundamental research that contributes to the general, explanatory knowledge that underlies STEM education in one or more of the three broadly conceived research areas:
- research on STEM learning and learning environments;
- research on broadening participation in STEM fields;
- research on STEM workforce development.
Foreign organisations may apply provided they do so in consortium with US organisations. The proposer must explain why local support is not feasible and why the foreign organisation can carry out the activity more effectively.
The anticipated budget is USD 35 million, to fund approximately 40 awards. Funding is worth up to USD 2.5m per project for between three and five years.
