The Guido Berlucchi Foundation Mini-Grant Programme 2026 aims to support young Principal Investigators performing basic research in oncology by financing laboratory running costs.
Applications can be submitted from April 1st to April 30th, 2026, at 13:00 (Central European Time). Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
The Guido Berlucchi Foundation Mini-Grant Programme is open to researchers here referred to as Principal Investigators (PI) with a doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent degree, including medical speciality, or at least 5 years of postgraduate research experience.
Applicants, of any nationality, must be 40 years old or younger by the time of the call deadline.
The PI at the time of the submission:
- must have at least 5 original articles as first/last/corresponding author;
- must not have received funding for research amounting to more than 40,000 euros that are still active in the 12 months following the call deadline.
The Guido Berlucchi Foundation Mini-Grant is a fixed contribution of 40,000 euros to support laboratory running costs to be spent within maximum 24 months from the first instalment.
The project will start on 15 January 2027.
The Hosting institution must be an Italian public or private non-profit Organisation.
The hosting Organization must not withhold more than 7% overheads on the Mini-Grant and must guarantee the availability of working space and materials for the PI’s project.
