The new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI AMR) has been published.
The document presents an overview of recent developments and future needs on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research, outlining key priorities:
- Therapeutics
- Diagnostics
- Surveillance Transmission
- Environment and Interventions
and defining a series of research objectives for each of them.
The Agenda is the result of cooperation between 27 countries and is a guiding tool for identifying investment, research and planning priorities. It also facilitates cooperation between researchers, policy makers, the media, educators, the scientific community and health professionals to combat antimicrobial resistance on a global scale.
