The European Food Safety Authority invites tenders for its call on new approach methodologies (NAM) projects in the areas of adverse outcome pathway (AOP) development and transcriptomics for risk assessment. Tenderers will conduct NAM-based case studies to improve the speed, precision and predictability of chemical risk assessment related to food safety by enabling the integration of mechanism-based data while, at the same time, reducing the need for animal bioassays. The call has the following lots:
- lot 1 – development of AOPs/AOP networks;
- lot 2 – NAM transcriptomics for toxicology specific pathway analysis to predict target organ toxicity.
Proposals can be submitted by one eligible organisation or a consortium of eligible organisations. In case of a consortium, one of the partners must be identified in the proposal as the consortium leader. Applicants must be on the list of competent organisations designated by the member states.
Funding is worth up to €5 million for up to four years to cover 90 per cent of eligible costs.
Deadline: 10th October 2022
