On April 2020, 7, the European Research Ministers expressed their support for the “ERAvsCORONA” ACTION PLAN which represents the result of collaboration between Member States and the European Commission in order to better coordinate the intervention in the current emergency situation.
The top 10 priority actions that will be implemented against Coronavirus in the R&I sector are identified in the adopted action plan.
These are key measures to be implemented in the short term, the result of the collaboration implemented in the field of research and innovation, in line with ERA priorities.
The action plan is intended to be updated and to evolve over time, also developing new and different actions for the long term.
The main focuses are as follows:
- coordination of research and innovation funding against Coronavirus;
- new funding for innovative health solutions to respond quickly to Coronavirus;
- increase support for innovative companies;
- access to research infrastructures;
- set up a European platform for data exchange on SARS-COV-2.
