The city of Shenzen donates a tool for molecular diagnostics to the Microbiology and Virology Laboratory of the University of Brescia at Spedali Civili, directed by prof. Arnaldo Caruso.
A gift that testifies the link between Brescia, the local Chinese community and China. The equipment arrived at the Civil and was immediately sent to the Montichiari hospital. “We have chosen to assign the laboratory to Montichiari to support the diagnostics of that hospital that must grow from a microbiological point of view“, explains Prof. Caruso. Montichiari will therefore support Spedali Civili. The idea of donating the new laboratory to Brescia dates back to March 13 and was launched by the Hon. Marina Berlinghieri of Zhou Angela Xiaoyan, president of the Huaxia group in Milan, representative of the Chinese PhoenixTv, on behalf of the latter and of the company Huada Technology.
It is a piece of the larger project that the University of Brescia, in collaboration with Spedali Civili, intends to carry out. “We want to make Brescia a point of excellence in Covid research,” says the rector Maurizio Tira.
“Brescia can certainly have its say in research for the diagnosis and lacura of Covid and beyond», confirms prof. Caruso. “The laboratory is ready to continue.”
