The University of Brescia in the list of competent organisations of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
The University of Brescia has been accreditet in the list of the Competent Organisations pursuant to art. 36 of the founding regulation of EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), which establishes the legal basis for cooperation between EFSA and the competent bodies designated by the Member States.
Member State organizations accredited to EFSA carry out various tasks to support its activities, including preparatory work for scientific opinions, scientific and technical assistance, data collection and identification of emerging risks. The inclusion in the list of these bodies – which currently has over 300 Universities, Institutes, Government Bodies, Public Bodies and other scientific organizations – now makes it possible for UNIBS to participate in calls published by EFSA for the execution of supported research projects. financially. Specifically, our University has expertiese in the following areas relevant to the EFSA mandate: Planth Health, Chemical Contaminants, Nutrition Dietetic Products and Novel Foods, Environmental Risk Assessment and Nanotechnology.
